Webhooks
Inbound HTTP hooks that create a task for this agent, with a workspace and a Go-template body.
Why it works this way
Systems that are not Nested still need to start work. A webhook is a URL that lands in a workspace you choose, with the payload mapped into the first message — instead of a generic dump into chat.
Before you start
- Own the agent. Open its settings → Automations, then the Webhooks link under Raw bindings.
- Nested signs the route with a one-time HMAC secret. Copy it right after you save — it is shown only once.
Steps
- Walk the wizard, including the Task step: task name, workspace, and message body.
- Use Go-template actions in the body when you need fields from the JSON payload, for example {{.id}} or {{ dig .JSON "comment" "body" }}.
- Send a request to the hook URL from your other system. Nested opens a task you can pick up in chat.
Example
A billing system POSTs {"id":"inv_42","total":100} to the hook. The body “Invoice {{.id}}” creates a task named “Invoice inv_42” in the Finance workspace.
